Correlation of EVN data

EVN data is correlated at various locations, in particular the EVN MkIV Data Processor at JIVE (in Dwingeloo, the Netherlands). This correlator is now well into its operational phase and is completely dedicated to the processing of European VLBI Network data. More information on the EVN MkIV Data Processor and the other centres where EVN data correlation is possible (Bonn and NRAO, Socorro) is included here.

The EVN MkIV Data Processor at JIVE

The EVN MkIV Data Processor is located at JIVE. This is now the default correlator for the majority of EVN experiments. For more information on the correlator's capabilities consult the JIVE Correlator pages.

The NRAO VLBA correlator

The NRAO correlator in Socorro, USA (description, queue) is also involved in the correlation of EVN data, including global VLBI. Suitable EVN projects are, for example, those observing modes that have not yet been verified at the JIVE data processor.

The Bonn MkIV correlator

The Bonn MkIV correlator is available, in principle, for some EVN observations. Suitable projects will be those for which the scientific advantage of using the Bonn Correlator is given in the proposal, or those which include a Bonn collaborator who wishes to have a closer "hands-on" approach to the data flow. For more information on this correlator's capabilities consult the MPIfR documentation: Capabilities of the Bonn Mk4 VLBI Correlator.
